Learn silk painting together through an artist-guided beginner video course. Clear lessons show you five reusable techniques, helping you understand how silk painting works and giving you methods you can use again in future paintings.

Work side by side, each with a silk painting design to make. Pause and replay the lessons as you go; no previous drawing or painting experience is needed.

LEARN FIVE REUSABLE TECHNIQUES

The course guides you through five essential silk painting techniques:

• Flat wash
• Two-colour blend
• Gradient
• Light tone
• Dark background

You’ll prepare your materials, practise each technique, see them used in a finished design, then put what you’ve learned into practice on your own silk paintings. Follow the course at your own pace, over one sitting or several sessions.

Choose one of six available pairs. Each one-off set contains two different designs—one for each painter. Availability changes as individual sets sell.

Coffee Break Silk Painting® was created and made by Chinese visual artist Miu Shu at Huntly Silk Painting Studio in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.

The kit brings together Miu’s beginner-friendly teaching method, guided video lessons, carefully selected silk painting designs and the materials needed to put those techniques into practice. You’ll build confidence through practical techniques and gain methods you can use again in future paintings.
