A BEGINNER SILK PAINTING COURSE FOR TWO

Make time for a different kind of date night: learn a creative skill together and make two silk paintings along the way.

Coffee Break Silk Painting® is an artist-guided beginner course, taught through clear video lessons you can pause and replay as you work. You’ll learn five essential silk painting techniques and how to use them in your own paintings. The aim is to give you methods you can return to, not just instructions for copying one picture.

The kit is designed for two people to paint side by side. No previous drawing or painting experience is needed.

LEARN FIVE REUSABLE TECHNIQUES

The video course guides you through five essential silk painting techniques:

• Flat wash
• Two-colour blend
• Gradient
• Light tone
• Dark background

You’ll prepare your materials, practise each technique, see them used in a finished design, then apply what you have learned to your own silk paintings.

Pause, replay and follow the lessons at your own pace. You can enjoy the course over one evening or return to it across several sessions.

Choose one of five available design pairs. Each pair includes two different designs, so you can each paint your own.

Each design pair is a one-off set. Availability may change as designs sell.

DESIGNED AND MADE BY AN ARTIST

Coffee Break Silk Painting® was created and made by Chinese visual artist Miu Shu at Huntly Silk Painting Studio in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.

The kit brings together Miu’s beginner-friendly teaching method, guided video lessons, carefully selected silk painting designs and the materials needed to put those techniques into practice. You’ll learn how silk painting works, build confidence through practical techniques and gain methods you can use again in future paintings.
