This course is for people who have enjoyed silk painting and would like to understand the process more deeply. You do not need to be an experienced artist, but you should be ready to take time, practise steadily, and develop your own design with guidance.
This is not a fast craft session. It is a gentle learning process with time to practise, reflect, and improve.

Become familiar with the tools, silk surface and first controlled line exercises.

Explore how silk dyes move and learn ways to guide softness, edges and flow.

Consider placement, movement, scale and how your design will work when worn.

Prepare your silk and create the foundation for your finished hand-painted piece.

This is a progressive course, so attending all sessions is recommended. Some light practice, sketching, or design thinking between sessions may be suggested. Finished silk pieces will remain at the studio for professional fixing and can be collected later.
